Extra-Curricular Arts Activities
Marching Band (Course ID: 6402)
Grade Level: 9-12
Prerequisites: Teacher Recommendation
Students receive 1.0 credit for this course. This is a co-curricular activity that is held outside of the regular school schedule. Students are taught the fundamentals of music, and are required to memorize a substantial amount of music for competitive purposes. Students are also versed in basic dance, body movements, and the fundamentals of marching. This class meets from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with extra rehearsals as needed. The marching band will travel on approximately eight Saturdays in the fall, and will be responsible for performing at all home football games, in parades, and several community activities, as well as serving as the pep band for basketball.

Prerequisites: Audition Required for Lead Roles
Each Spring, the Fine Arts faculty coordinate and oversee the production of a school-wide musical, which involves students from every part of the campus in order to create a unique and original interpretation of classic Broadway hits. Participation in this production does not require any previous background in the arts, as there are several roles in a variety of capacities. ** = Talented eighth grade students are eligible to audition for the chorus or secondary acting roles.
